Week 3, Friday
One of the joys of homeschooling is being able to pick up and go when the opportunity presents itself. Bo's early call canceled, and his next wasn't until 8PM, so we decided to visit the Commemorative Air Force Museum that was closed last time we tried to visit. The boys (all 3 of them!) had a wonderful time looking at and learning more about the planes that are stored there. The youngest boys also had fun pedaling around in a toy airplane that was in the hangar. We had the entire museum to ourselves, except for the volunteers who were there, and the men working on various planes.
They chose a set of 12 planes from the gift shop, and also 2 gliders. When we got home, the boys built their own airport using the planes, cars, and blocks to build runways, hangars and gas stations.
Nate was able to practice recognizing more letters, and Colin was able to practice reading a little bit.
It's late afternoon, and they're watching a Pink Pather cartoon dvd I picked up a couple weeks ago. They're finding them hilarious and are giggling like mad.
Not much actual "schooling" happened today, but they definitely learned new things and we all enjoyed ourselves.
